an apple a day...

All about apples is an interesting site about apples. They have the following news about apple pectin. Pectin is a natural fiber found in many fruits with apples being the richest source of pectin among all the fruits. Recent studies have revealed many health benefits from consumption of pectin. Pectin acts as an antioxidant against the bad cholesterol in the blood stream, decreases the chances of colon cancer, reduces high blood pressure and is effective in the regression, or prevention of, gallstones. There is also recent evidence to suggest that taking Apple Pectin everyday over time can lead to a reduction in insulin requirements which may lessen the severity of diabetes. Apple pectin is one of the ingredients in Cholesterol Combo from Nepatica.

huereque

This is a link to the article “Home Remedies for Type 2 Diabetes Used by Mexican Americans in El Paso, Texas written by JANE E. POSS, MARY ANN JEZEWSKI and ARMANDO GONZALEZ STUART about the the use of herbal remedies to treat Type 2 diabetes among Mexican Americans in El Paso County, Texas, on the U.S.-Mexico border. Interviews were conducted in Spanish with 22 Mexican American adults diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Open-ended questions were used to elicit the participants’ beliefs about the appropriate treatment of Type 2 diabetes, including both Western biomedical and herbal therapy. Kleinman’s explanatory model of illness served as the framework, and the grounded theory method wasused for data analysis. A majority of participants were taking prescribed Western medications in conjunction with traditional Mexican folk remedies. Participants relied on the advice of family, friends, and neighbors to provide them with guidance, and some herbs used by participants were not indicated for the treatment of diabetes.

Huereque (Ibervillea Sonoraee) is one of the herbal remedies examined. Huereque is also the main ingredient in our Blood Sugar Combo.

high cholesterol

It is important to keep the cholesterol levels within healthy limits. It is extra important to be aware of the cholesterol levels if you have other risk factors for developing heart disease. LDL cholesterol can build up on the inside of artery walls, causing artery blockages that may lead to heart attacks. Higher LDL cholesterol levels mean higher risk. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol is known as "good" cholesterol because it helps prevent arteries from becoming clogged. Higher HDL cholesterol levels generally mean lower risk. A high LDL cholesterol level has normally no symptoms, except for your genetic makeup shown in family history of high cholesterol and heart disease. Even if you eat right and exercise your genes can give you high cholesterol levels. Because of that it is extremely important to have your cholesterol checked regularly. Finding the problem early allows you to take action in time. Cholesterol Combo from Nepatica with Red Yeast Rice, Garlic, Guggul, Apple Pectin and Cayenne is good tool in order to maintain a healthy cholesterol level.

blood pressure combo

High blood pressure also known as hypertension increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, damage to the eyes, and congestive heart failure. Normally there are no external signs of high blood pressure therefore many people have it for years without noticing. If high blood pressure is left untreated, the heart needs to work harder and harder to pump enough blood and oxygen to the body's organs and tissues to meet their needs. When the heart is forced to work harder than normal for an extended time, the heart enlarges and weakens.. A normal blood pressure for most adults is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Blood Pressure Combo from Nepatica is a good way of maintaining a healthy blood pressure level. Blood Pressure Combo from Nepatica is a blend o f Hawthorn berry (200 mg), Motherwort (165 mg), Olive leaf (100 mg), Garlic (100 mg) and Passion flower (65 mg).

commiphora mukul

Guggul is a resin produced by the stem of the Commiphora mukul tree, a small, plant that grows throughout India. Guggul has more than 3,000 years of history behind it in treating a variety of medical conditions. Chemicals in the resin called guggulsterones are responsible for its positive effect on cholesterol and triglycerides. Guggul not only lower levels of LDL -the "bad" cholesterols--but raise levels of the "good" cholesterol HDL. Guggul also appear to reduce the stickiness of platelets in the blood. In many countries such as India and France gugulipid is considered so effective in treating high cholesterol that it is considered a prescription drug. flax seed and arthritis

Flax seeds have natural anti-inflammatory benefits, which makes them beneficial for persons who suffer from ache in joints and bones. The Omega-3 fatty acids found in flax seeds are used by the body to produce prostaglandins. These are hormone-like substances which help reduce inflammation. Flaxseed is good to ease joint pain, by lubricating the joints. It can reduce the stiffness for arthritis patients. Flax seed has also been shown to lower total cholesterol and can be a great helper in the fight against heart disease.

rose hip and arthritis

Scientists have been conducting research in Berlin and Copenhagen to discover the healing effect of rosehip on rheumatoid arthritis. The rosehip was administered in capsule form over a 6 month period to patients who have rheumatoid arthritis and were being treated with standard drugs. The researchers were surprised by the results of the trials particularly because rheumatoid arthritis is much more challenging and severe than osteo-arthritis. 89 people were selected for the trial. Most were female with an average age of 57 and all had severe rheumatoid arthritis for over 18 years. These participants were required to keep a record of their pain levels and physical ability to perform normal daily tasks. Six months later the patients taking rosehip experienced a 20 to 25 percent improvement in their level of physical ability and 40 percent reduction in the number of joints causing them discomfort or pain. There was no change in the patients who had the standard drug treatment only. Rheumatoid arthritis is a condition where the body's own immune system turns on the body attacking joints, leaving them swollen and causing damage to bone and cartilage. Rose Hip is one of the ingredients in Joint and Bone Combo.

osteoarthritis

The word “arthritis” is from the Greek words meaning “inflamed joints” and is related with more than 100 rheumatic diseases and conditions. These conditions can affect not only the joints but also the muscles, bones, and ligaments that support them. Osteoarthritis is the form that results when cartilage is slowly eroded, and bone begins grinding against bone. Osteoarthritis rarely spreads to other body parts but concentrates its erosive influence in one or just a few joints. Osteoarthritis occurs more frequently as we age. Osteoarthritis usually affects the hands, feet, spine, and large weight-bearing joints, such as the hips and knees. Most cases of osteoarthritis have no known cause and are referred to as primary osteoarthritis. When the cause of the osteoarthritis is known, the condition is referred to as secondary osteoarthritis. Try Joint and Bone Combo if you would like to maintain healthy joints and bones
